In Which the Little Red Beastie is Persuasive

The Beastie Wild Things are cunning. Do not be fooled: they know how to wrap you around their paws.

"I'm so cute, and I'm all alone on the futon. You know you want to come over here and hug me."

"Puuuhleeeease..... I don't want to be here all by myself! It makes me anxious."

"You can't resist. I'm too fuzzy and adorable. See?"

Alright, I give in.

Little Red Beastie wins (but everyone wins when a snuggly dog is involved).

Pizza the Hutt

Actually, Pizza the Hutt was disgusting. And I would never want to take a bit out of that guy. THIS pizza was monstrous, yet awesome.

(I am actually looking down at the culinary masterpiece, not sleepwalking.)
I can only take credit for chopping veggies and meticulously spreading the ingredients over the dough. Justin made this beautiful thing. Delish....

It was huge. It was shaped like a kidney. It oozed cheese all over the oven and now the oven is gross. But it was SO worth it. And the leftovers served as tasty lunches for most of a week. Win!

plants plants plants plants plants and more plants

Happy Springtime! It's time to do some work in my mini-garden, and also try to grow some native grasses in the backyard without the dogs destroying the work. First things first: Go to Plants of the Southwest and drool over all of the little lovelies....

All you have to do is follow the yellow (brown) brick (mulch) road....

Look! It's a Redbud Tree!

Look! It's me in a fort! (Forts are AWESOME.)

So many things to choose from... all kinds of trees and shrubs suited to desert growing conditions...

...and grasses and herbs and flowers....

The staff is knowledgeable and very nice. They don't laugh at me when I ask goofy questions because I am a garden novice.

And look! A pretty plant just for me. :)
Justin and I planted our herbs and shrubs this weekend. I will keep you posted!
